Privacy Policy

Swiss Wildlife Company Sàrl ("SWWC", "we") is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to swwc.ch. This page explains what data is collected, why, who receives it, and what your rights are. It applies under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where relevant, the GDPR.

2. Data Collected

  • Contact form: name, email address, organisation (optional) and message. They are sent to us by email and used solely to respond to your request. They are not stored in a database; the server only keeps them in memory for the short time needed to display the confirmation page.
  • Technical data: like any website, when your browser loads a page, our server receives your IP address and basic browser information (browser type, requested page, date and time). Fonts and scripts are served by our own server. We do not keep access logs. Our server only keeps technical error logs, limited in size and rotated automatically, which may incidentally contain an IP address.
  • Audience statistics: we count visits with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we operate ourselves. It records page views, referring site, browser, device type and country. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, does not follow you across websites and does not build individual profiles. The figures cannot be used to identify you.
  • Bot protection (reCAPTCHA): the contact page loads Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise as soon as it opens. It analyses browsing behaviour to detect automated submissions, which may include your IP address and interaction data.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Only technical cookies are used, and only in two situations:

  • Session cookie: created by our server when you submit the contact form, so that the confirmation page can be displayed. It is not used for tracking and is deleted when you close your browser.
  • Google reCAPTCHA cookies: set by Google on the contact page to assess the risk of automated submissions. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Audience statistics do not use any cookie.

4. Service Providers and Third Parties

The following providers are involved in running this site. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.

  • Hetzner: hosting of the website.
  • Resend: delivery of the messages sent through the contact form.
  • Zoho Mail (European data centres): hosting of our mailbox, where the messages sent through the contact form are received.
  • Google: reCAPTCHA Enterprise, used on the contact page only.
  • Umami: audience statistics, operated by SWWC (see section 2).

5. Purpose and Legal Basis

  • Contact form data is processed in order to respond to your request, which you submit voluntarily.
  • Technical data and reCAPTCHA are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure and working website and protecting it from abuse.
  • Audience statistics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used in order to improve it. They are anonymous.

6. Retention Period

Messages received through the contact form are kept in our mailbox (Zoho Mail) only for as long as necessary to handle your request and any resulting business relationship, then deleted. Audience statistics are anonymous and kept in aggregated form. Third-party providers apply their own retention periods.

7. Transfers Abroad

Some of the providers listed above (in particular Google and Resend) may process data outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area, notably in the United States. Such transfers rely on the safeguards offered by these providers, such as the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

8. Your Rights (FADP / GDPR)

In accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

  • Right of access to your personal data
  • Right to rectification in case of inaccuracy
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to object to processing
  • Right to data portability

To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or with the data protection authority of your country.
